How the journey of Peter and Tina began

When we sent out invitations to our wedding my mom came up with a brilliant idea!  We sent out a newsletter of how we met and got to where we are today.  It was so nice, because when they came to the reception, everyone had an idea of how we met and I was able to avoid answering the same questions over and over. 

All the way back in October of 2003 they both met at a dance that their church was putting on. They had some mutual friends and began talking on the computer and building a friendship. Many weekends they would get together will all of their friends and go have fun. They have many good memories of riding the four-wheeler, playing games, sledding, ice skating and many more things. Throughout that summer they had fun swimming, hanging out with friends, and talking and texting all the time!

Peter was working and preparing for his two- year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and Tina was finishing up her senior year. They continued to hang out until he left on him mission to Sacramento, California in April of 2005. Tina was sad to see him go, but looking forward to her adventure of going to school at Weber State University and living on her own. The first year went by and they continued to write each other and send each other tapes. In March of 2006 Peter came home to have some surgery and they were able to talk on the phone. And boy did they! He left again and Tina continued to go to school and work towards earning her Associates Degree.

In June of 2007 he arrived home from his mission and Tina was there to see him at the airport and that is where the story begins. They hung out that first night and realized that they still enjoyed one-another’s company. From that day forward they talked everyday, if not saw each other. Soon realizing that they wanted to spend eternity with one-another. On July 2nd, 2007 Peter proposed to Tina at sunrise on the cliff’s of Grant Park.

Tina is finishing up her Bachelor’s in Elementary Education at Weber State University and Peter is working full time planning on starting school and studying Accounting in the fall. They will reside in Ogden, Utah until Peter finishes school and we decide what our next adventure will be.

So there you have it in a very small nutshell.  We were never boyfriend/girlfriend (contrary to what people believe!!).  We went from being friends to engaged to married!  It was such a fun ride!  Throughout the next posts (since I seem to have gotten a motivation for blogging) I'm going to go through a whole boat load of memories that I have never written down (hopefully including fun older pictures to go with it!)

 This is when Pete got home (June 2007) and I went home to see him.  LONG story and one that I will save for another post!  Anyhow, this was on my deck and we built a fire and were roasting marshmallows.
